Kenneth E. Holderman, 83 of Granger, IN passed peacefully while surrounded by his children on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Ken was born on July 4, 1939, at his childhood home on Edison Road to Edwin R. and Jewel F. (Harney) Holderman. Ken was the youngest of 8 siblings and was raised in rural Mishawaka. His father was a welder and owned his own business where he learned an appreciation for machining and repairing.

On September 16, 1961, Ken married Judith A. Parks at St. Monica Catholic Church Mishawaka.

Judy preceded Ken in death. Ken was also preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael A. Holderman, his brother, Louis N. Holderman, his sisters; Erma Potts, Esther Borshiem, Edna Grant, Eva Rahn and Avis Chambers.  Left to mourn his loss is his son, Karl (Lisa) Holderman, his daughter, Sandra (David) Williams, his sister, Elaine Bonar, his daughter in law, Michelle Holderman, his grandson, Casey M. Holderman and several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Ken worked at Allied Specialty Products for over 50 years where he started as a high school co-op student in machining and worked his way up thru the company where he retired as the president in 2007. He had an engineer’s mind and was very talented at machining, auto repair and quite the handy man around the house. He was a football fan and enjoyed cheering on Notre Dame and the Chicago Bears. He graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1957 where he met his future wife, Judy.

Ken also served in the U. S. Air Force Reserve. Throughout his life Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, good food, good friends, and photography. Ken especially enjoyed spending time with his special grandchildren from overseas - several AFS students shared his time. He was quick to share a joke (good or bad) with you and kept his email at the ready to share a funny story. A good life lived, a soul to be missed by many.

A memorial service for Ken will be held on Saturday, September 10th at 12:00 p.m. with visitation being held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.
